Is my phone supported by MiShop?

In short we don't know! We are continuously testing MiShop with a large number of mobiles and it amazes even us how many different models support it. When you click on the link that is sent to your phone after you text MiShop to 60777 or sign up on the website we gather some information about your phone. If your phone is definitely not supported we will tell you straight away.

As a rule of thumb MiShop will not work on your phone if:

  • Your phone does not have a WAP or Internet browser
  • Your phone does not have a colour screen (although it may work)
  • Your phone does not support data services
  • Your phone is very old (more than 3 years)
  • Your phone has a small, low resolution screen (does everything look chunky?)

In technical terms your phone will need to support Java MIDP 2.0 with data services.

How much memory do I need to store MiShop on my phone?

It depends! The issue here is how much free memory is required. If your phone is constantly telling you that you have to delete photos before you take any more - then you have a problem! Also the way that your phone manages files will have an impact on the memory requirement - some are better than others. A typical user with 6 shops loaded will require around 800kbytes for the MiShop program and the menus so its best to allow around 1Mbyte of free memory as a rough guide. This is roughly the equivalent of 2-3 photos on a 2megapixel camera phone.
